Down to Earth Demolitions was founded by the Morrow family in 1982.
In 2003 Rohan Murphy and Glenda Lake formed a business partnership to purchase the company. Since then Down to Earth Demolitions has established a firm reputation as North Queensland's leading and largest demolition company. The company now boasts 50 highly experienced and qualified personnel who carry out demolitions and asbestos removals from Mount Isa to Mackay, and up to the top of the Cape at Thursday Island.
Individual team members and the company hold all the necessary certifications and licences, and our working practises adhere strictly to the relevant requirements and legislation. We are professionals who pride ourselves on our track record of safety.
We specialise in all commercial and domestic demolitions, and plant hire (all wet hire, with the services of an experienced operator). Our team minimises waste, recycling as many materials as possible through our on-site secondhand yard which sells virtually the full range of used building materials - timber; steel; internal and external wooden, French and glass sliding doors; casement and glass sliding windows; kitchen benches; cupboards; vanities; spas and so much more. You'll even find the kitchen sink at our yard!
Down to Earth Demolitions administration, plant hire and secondhand yard are all based at 107-109 Draper Street, Cairns. Opening hours are 7am to 5pm weekdays for demolitions and inquiries, and our secondhand yard is open 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to noon Saturday.
Down to Earth Demolitions strive to have a Quality Assured Company acknowledged within and outside the industry as the most reliable, competitive, well structured and qualified demolition company in North Queensland.

Down to Earth Demolitions' safety record is among one of the best in the region because, we have in the past and intend in the future to implement safety procedures to ensure this remains so.
